As UX Designers, we are to be empathetic towards our users. Despite anyone’s opinion on corporate decision-making, there is no greater group of people that deserve our genuine thought and efforts than the millions of minimum-wage field workers of Walmart. The largest Intranet of it’s size, as judged by employee base, even the most minor of improvements are improvements that can change the daily routines of many. With 2.3 million active employees in 2012, possibly over the next few years doubling as Mr. Sam’s empire spreads their squiggles overseas.

A rushed timeline with more compromises than a low-cost fashion ensemble, as to keep to their mantra of everyday low prices.
